Setting Up Your Security Camera App: A Step-by-Step Guide
Smart security systems make it easier than ever to keep an eye on your home — whether you’re at work, on vacation, or just relaxing on the couch. With the right app, you can view live feeds, get instant alerts, and manage settings right from your phone or tablet.
If your system was installed by SYNC Audio Video Networks, here’s a simple guide to get your monitoring app up and running smoothly.

Step 1: Confirm Compatibility
Before downloading anything, check which app your security system uses. Different systems — like Luma, IC Realtime, Hikvision, or ClareVision — have their own dedicated mobile apps.
Your installer will confirm the correct app for your system and provide the login details or setup QR code.
Tip: If you’re unsure, contact SYNC Audio Video Networks for confirmation before downloading.
Step 2: Download the App
Head to your app store:
iPhone/iPad: Open the App Store
Android: Open the Google Play Store
Search for the app name provided by your installer (e.g., Luma View, ClareVision, Hik-Connect). Tap Download and wait for the installation to complete.
Step 3: Create or Log Into Your Account
Once installed, open the app and either: Sign in using the credentials provided by your A/V technician, or Create a new account if prompted.
Make sure to verify your email or phone number — this step secures your access and allows remote alerts.
Step 4: Connect Your Security Cameras
There are two common connection methods:
1. QR Code Setup
Most Sync-installed systems display a QR code on your recorder’s monitor. Open your app, tap “Add Device,” and scan the code to link your cameras instantly.
2. Manual Setup
Enter your device’s IP address, username, and password manually (your installer will have provided these during setup).
Once connected, your live feeds should appear in the app dashboard.
Step 5: Enable Notifications and Remote Access
To get motion alerts or live updates, go to App Settings → Notifications and allow push alerts. If you’re away from home, ensure your system is connected to your home’s network through remote access (P2P) — this allows viewing without needing to be on the same Wi-Fi.
Pro Tip: Always use a strong password for your security account to keep your cameras protected.
Step 6: Test Your Setup
Before you wrap up, test your system:
Open the app from outside your home network (using mobile data)
Check each camera feed
Confirm that notifications are coming through
Everything running smoothly? You’re all set to monitor your property from anywhere.
